Why do rabbits always have to be kept in cages as pets but dogs and cats don't? Are they dangerous? They look so cute and cuddly. Why are rabbits always in cages as pets?My 4 seem to be fine having the run of the house, infact I know a lady who has 2 Flemish giants in her condo that can go in and out through a dog door.
people really dont give credit to rabbits as house pets.
Mine are not kept in cages, and I have 4.Mine have an x-pen set up where I keep their litterboxes and food and water bowl, other than that go in and out.

For the wire chewing excuse, you have to rabbit proof, just like you baby proof. http://sandiegorabbits.org/behavior/bunn鈥?/a>
Most people dont want to litterbox train them and get them fixed is why. Litterbox training rabbits is very easy, easier than potty training a dog in my opinion.

They would run away, chew up any wire they can find climb on things that will fall on them or get stuck behind somthing that they shouldnt and eat anything they can find, that and reliev themselves whenever and wherever they felt like it. bunnies are incredably curious animals and if they werent locked up they would have a not so fun death :( and yes they are cute and cudly. not all cages have to be small though.we made a cage for my bunnie that was on the grass and it was really long and she could run all over the place and we put a regular cage with a bunny house thing in it at the end and she could hop up into there when she wanted or go under the cage. she liked it and it was nice and big.Why are rabbits always in cages as pets?not always.it depends on the owner.some owners prefer them in their cages and just take them out from time to time because rabbits can sometimes be really messy with out proper litter training.
but some owners prefer them indoors and let them loose around the household just like any cats and dogs.they aren't dangerous.just a bit curious and active about their surroundings.
also, rabbits are not like dogs who can find their way back home when you let them loose in the neighborhood.if they're gone, they're gone.simple.Why are rabbits always in cages as pets?
They are not always kept in cages, and if you can care properly for them they are wonderful pets, but please please beware, spay or neuter them if you want a "cuddle bunny". With the proper treatment rabbits are great and are loving creatures...
Good Luck,Why are rabbits always in cages as pets?i have 20 rabbits they are all outside rabbits as i belive they should be kept im strongly against house rabbits it isn a natural way of keeping them , i know baby bunnies die from chewing threw wires ect myne are kept in cages to protect them from weather foxes cats vermin ect but they play outside hutches daily for at least 3 hours each seprately under supervision Why are rabbits always in cages as pets?
You don't have to keep them caged up all of the time. I use to let my rabbits roam around the house. One I had thought he was a cat, and would even use a litter box like the cats did, lol. Why are rabbits always in cages as pets?
A lot of the time it's for the rabbit's own protection, in case a predator gets into the yard.
Otherwise they crap all over your house. You cannot 'potty train' a rabbit unless you are very dedicated in potty training them. Most people don't want to be bothered.
