Do you think people should have to have licences to have pets?

Just going by some of the questions on here, and don't want to offend people, the lack of knowledge about caring for pets is a bit worrisome. Do you think more education and licencing may be the answer?Do you think people should have to have licences to have pets?It would be too hard in my opinion...

Imagine how many dogs would be sold 'black market' style to people unable to get licences... the dogs would then be cooped up in darkness so no-one discovered they had a pet...



A licence to breed... definately!!!



Education... YES... pet stores just take the money for a dog and then wave the new owners goodbye. If people were properly educated about EVERY aspects of pet ownership we would have a lot less stupid questions on this site.Do you think people should have to have licences to have pets?
I agree with you, I think all pet owners should have some sort of pre-req. or licensing entact. Most dog adoption/fostering agencies have an extensive approval program; they need to visit with the potential parents, check their home, sometimes background checks.
