Do veterinarians have to pay for their own pets?

Veterinarians charge A LOT for check ups and animal care. I'm thinking of going into veterinary science to become a vet and I'm curious to know, do vets have to pay the high prices to do clinical check ups or treatments on their own pets?Do veterinarians have to pay for their own pets? Most vets can diagnose and treat their own pets for minor injuries and sicknesses.

If the animal was run over however, they would have to pay to use the surgery's facilities, but it would be a hell of allot less if they did the work/operation themselves.Do veterinarians have to pay for their own pets? That's a bit like asking an electrician if he charges himself to do electrical work in his own house! If you have a skill, why would you pay someone else to do the work when you can do it yourself?

i should imagine that, like hairdressers and dentists do their colleagues' hair and teeth as a favour, vets do each others' pets in their own time.Do veterinarians have to pay for their own pets?I'm not exactly sure about that but I adore dogs but it's tough to live with them in a small apartment so I prefer cats. You may also attempt some birds or fishes.Do veterinarians have to pay for their own pets?
they pay the cost of supplies and materials. They can examine their own pets at no cost, but if the dog needs vaccines, they pay that.
