I live in Australia and the laws about keeping reptiles here are pretty strict, which is a good thing, but the downside is that you can't own any reptile as a pet.
Are Frilled Neck Lizards allowed to be kept as pets in Australia (Sydney)? I want to expand my reptile collection and was thinking about the frilly but i'm not sure if they are legal here. I've tried to research but haven't found much breeders or anything saying its illegal or legal. Can Frilled Neck lizards be kept as pets?I'm guessing it's hard to find breeders because the animals are native to Australia. At least here in the states where rules are a little more lax, the sale of animals native to a state in that state's borders is prohibited. By the same token, you also can't go out and catch an animal (even an insect) without a license, though no one really cares and I don't know how you would get caught unless a cop car is just sitting in the Outback. In this case, it would just be bad luck that such a nice animal lives in your own country.
