Who cares for your pets when you are arrested?

I have asked this before, but only about domestic pets like a dog or a cat.

BUT, what if you kept exotic animals which had very specific care routines (chimps, hedgehogs) or if you had a very large number of animals like a farmer and his/her livestock? Who's duty is it to care for these animals in the owners absence?

(assume that the owner is taken into custody but hasn't been convicted of anything yet - it is all suspicion. So the owner may not have actually done what he is accused of - innocent until proven guilty and that)Who cares for your pets when you are arrested? The animal control agency is sent in to seize the animals. They are either awarded to a care agency or back to the owner. But all this will be charged to the owner and the bills must be paid.Who cares for your pets when you are arrested? The Police. But I doubt a funny bird or fish will die because you leave them for some hours whilst you are being dealt with. If you have a Pit bull then you'll lose him in the go as it's illegal. If you have a funny crocodile- hm , probably the same...Who cares for your pets when you are arrested? That's your tough luckWho cares for your pets when you are arrested?
