Starting a business where I catch pigeons and sell them as pets?

I always see a ton of pigeons on the sidewalk in my city and I was thinking that those pigeons are basically free money. I was thinking about about starting a business where I catch them and sell them as pets. Is doing that legal and how much should I charge per pigeon? Wild pigeons does not carry any monetary value, that is you want get anything buying or selling them.



Domesticated pigeons mainly comes in three category - Racing/homing pigeons, fancy pigeons, utility pigeons



Racing pigeons - Used for pigeon racing associated with clubs, best pedigree racing pigeons are one of the costilest domesticated birds



Fancy pigeons - These pet birds are bred for their color, features and structure, examples are Indian Fantails, Jacobins, Pouters, frill back, modena, etc.



Utility pigeons - These are used for meat like many chicken. An example is the King pigeon.



So if you are starting a business then its the domesticated category you should look into, may be you can try the ceremonial dove/pigeon release business.

no, that's a dumb idea - these are wild pigeons, they are not homing pigeons so they will not stick around in a person's loft. Any pigeon man will also be unwilling to take them as they are worthless mongrels from his point of view. They must be handled with expertise or you will cause them undue stress. They don't deserve this treatment.



Catching them and killing them is a much more humane and suitable way of making money - you will spend much less money on meat if you eat pigeons. They are a good food and if you gut them properly and know which parts to eat (get someone to show you) you won't get disease if you cook them properly. You must learn to kil them humanely though, or you are being cruel and heartless and unfair. Pigeons are very intelligent despite their reputation. They are easy to catch, but killing them without the public seeing and being disturbed is a different matter. How would you feel if someone took you out of the wild and tried to sell you? The pigeons have emotions too and if you were to take them out of the wild, they will never trust anyone and die of stress. It's just not worth it. Also, if you start doing that and everyone else starts doing that, they can make the species go endangered. Many parrot species are going extinct with the wild parrot trade being the 2nd largest contributer to their extinction. Also doing that is illegal and you will have to pay a very heavy fine and probably go to jail. Also people will not want to buy wild caught pigeons because they will know it is wrong, so no, pigeons are not free money. Also it's very cruel to do that. First of all, do not even THINK about touching Pigeons. In fact Don't THINK ABOUT thinking about it.

Because did you know they carry diseases and you can get bird flu, which, in fact, can kill you.



And who the hell would want them as pets? I don't fancy a bird in my house pooping all over the place and fluttering about. Pigeons aren't to be cooped up in a house. Or they will flutter and fly. If you want to start a pigeon business just go to the pet shop and buy 2 pigeons one male and one female. Plus, do you know how many diseases those things have? And if that hasn't made you change your mind it is completely illegal you cant just take a wild animal from its natural habitat and sell it. and YES very hard to catch
That's a stupid thing to do.



They are disease ridden and have been known to attack people.



Have you even owned pigeons before? Do you have enough room for them? Do you know what they eat?



They aren't tame, 'pet' pigeons, they're wild animals.

Sometimes those pigeons are protected by the country, no one is allowed to catch them, but ppl can feed them and put some water for them.

And starting the business from street animals is the worst idea I have ever heard of!
Don't! They can carry disease, and make a person very sick, then they could sue you. They are wild animals, and can (sometimes) become vicious if they feel there is nothing else to do.Starting a business where I catch pigeons and sell them as pets?
I think that is a cruel idea. Any animal that wasn't born in captivity should NOT be in captivity.
Sounds either illegal or inhumane. You shouldn't.
