im having my first baby in 2 weeks and i was reading somewhere that if you introduce a newborn to pets too early they can develop allergies. is this true? i was doing a little research today. I read that it actually does the opposite. ill still have to do more research and ask my doctor about it as well. but i would also like to hear what you have to say.I heard a newborn baby can develop allergies when introduced to pets too soon?It would actually prevent allergies since the child would be used to the pets from the start. Allergies are called by things called allergens that trigger our immune system if our bodies aren't used to them. That's why people who live in air conditioning tend to have allergies to flowers and such, because the air they breath is filtered and they don't breathe in allergens.I heard a newborn baby can develop allergies when introduced to pets too soon? That's ridiculous. I'd assume it would actually prevent allergies because their system would get used to it.
I've had cats around me since I was brought home from the hospital - most of my friends did when we were young too. I actually don't know a single person that has an animal allergy that has had a pet since they were born. I'm not saying it can't happen - but in my experience it hasn't.
I know a few people with animal allergies that were never exposed to pets as young children.
I'm having my first baby in about a week and have 4 cats in my house - I'm not worried.I heard a newborn baby can develop allergies when introduced to pets too soon?Yeah, the only thing I have heard is that having pets when a child is a little baby is better because it can help prevent other allergies later on.
