My brother is graduating from Fort Benning next week and we are wondering if pets are allowed to go to the graduation.
Any help? Can you bring pets to Fort Benning Graduation? You have to think of how many people are going to be at the graduation and what situation you can be in. If there is storms you can be moved inside to a gymnasium, animals are definitely not allowed in there. Then there is some people who have allergic reactions to animals, cats are very common and this can cause serious medical problems for them. Then there is the amount of people there, the excitement, etc... this can cause the animal to get lose and cause other problems or be hurt itself. Children are often there as well and they can do something to cause the animal to react. It isn't necessarily the animals fault but it can cause a commotion. All these things will take away the pride of that day and ruin it for a lot of people if something does happen.
While it probably would be nice for you to have it there at his graduation because it is an important part of the family, you have to consider others as well. Leave the pet at home with a friend or family member. It can survive a few days without you. He can see it when he comes home. Can you bring pets to Fort Benning Graduation? It is not a good idea. If for some reason they hold graduation inside (like rain or what not) the pet would not be allowed in the building. Also you will be sitting for a long time, and some pets may not do well with this. The other thing to remember is that pets are not allowed to be left alone in a vehicle while on a military post. They will enforce this if it is a hot day, a long time alone, and someone complains. Also if you go out to eat or anything like that, what are you going to do with the pet? It's best just to leave the pet at home, and let your brother see it when he comes home on leave. Unless you are talking certified guide dog or something, then yes by all means take it along with any certification. Can you bring pets to Fort Benning Graduation?service animals only. Pets are not permitted.
