Is there a law against having pets in restaurants?

I wonder whether there are any health or safety laws against having dogs and other pets in restaurants with people. I am in Michigan if that helps any. Thanks!!Is there a law against having pets in restaurants?as far as I know in ca there are laws no pets unless they are service pets for the disabledIs there a law against having pets in restaurants?its more common sense.... other then for the blind or handycaped.... hair...dirt....poop.... noises... ETC doesnt normally work well with all people...Is there a law against having pets in restaurants?it is against health code to allow a pet inside of a dining establishment, many restaurants with outdoor seating would host your pet. it's very important that you follow proper pet etiquette when dining out. Show consideration for other patrons and make sure your pet doesn't beg for food, bark or jump. Don't expect the wait staff to serve your pet - bring along their own travel bowls, food and water. Is there a law against having pets in restaurants?
Most restaurants I have ever seen usually prohibit pets from entering the establishment because of local health and safety regulations. However, there is one notable exception to this- Seeing Eye, Hearing Ear, Seizure Alert, and other service dogs. These animals are permitted in ALL restaurants, in hotels, in bars, and in just about every other public place. To prohibit their entrance is to be in violation of a number of important state and federal laws, and NO business I have ever heard of wants that- or the lawsuits which often result from it. Service animals are trained ( over the course of at LEAST a year or more ) to behave in very unobtrusive ways in restaurants and public places. These animals will usually lie down at their handler's feet, or will go under the table and lie down there. This is what they are trained to do, and it is important that people who are sighted not interfere with a service dog while it is working. Dogs like this have an important job to do, and they must be free to concentrate on that job at all times. Hope this answers your question.
