How is it working for Pets Mart?

Has anyone here worked at Pets Mart? If so what is it like? I'm thinking of applying there. My only problem is, I love dogs and cats but am afraid of snakes, mice %26amp; rats. If I were to get hired would I have to touch them? If not, do you think it will prevent them from hiring me?How is it working for Pets Mart? You as an employee won't be forced to handle any pet - in fact, its at the owner's discretion whether to allow you to touch their pet. Employees at pet stores are requested to ask for permission before petting a customer's animal - after all, the employee doesn't know if the pet has a skin condition, under medication, afraid of strangers, etc., and therefore causing a problem with the animal which could endanger their well being.

Also, most people who bring in animals won't be bringing in mice and rats :)

As for the pets that they have in-store, simply tell the person you're interviewing with that you simply don't feel comfortable in the departments that handle rodents and snakes. If you tell them up front, they can't hold it against you, and if they are looking to hire you, you'll be put in a department that better suits your needs.

Good luck!
