Is any one out there interested in keeping snake's as pets and talking more about them?

People who are interested in the keeping of snakes as pets and talking more about their experiences with their encounters wheather it be good or bad.Is any one out there interested in keeping snake's as pets and talking more about them?Well, I have a ball python and my experience with him since I got him has all been good. He has never bitten (me, nor the kids), and he is as loving as he can be. He hasn't had any problems with feeding nor shedding.Is any one out there interested in keeping snake's as pets and talking more about them?I keep mine both for pets and for breeding. If you'd like to talk more, feel free to contact me.Is any one out there interested in keeping snake's as pets and talking more about them?Hey!

i have a diamond python as a pet. he has never bitten anyone, however i have only had him since he was about 2 so he has been taught not to bite by his previous owner.

when i take him out of his cage to have him on my shoulders around the house he sometimes crawls into the lounge but i just leave him there until i want to put him back in his cage because he is usually right under the pillow im sitting on. one time, he actually crawled out of the lounge and i was frantically looking all over the house and finally found him behind the TV cabinet. so my advice (learnt from that experience) is to always keep and eye on your snake and never let him or her go away even if you think you know where they are.

his tank is relatively big and should be about half your snake's length, you should ALWAYS make sure your snake has water because, strangely enough, they actually do drink.

he eats one medium sized rat (usually live, but sometimes we have to feed him pre-killed frozen mice which must be thawed out) every fortnight and less in winter because the whether is cold and you need your snake to be warmed (possibly my a heat lamp) before eating food because there can be digestion problems.

remember that a heat lamp is different from a normal lamp because normal lamps waste a lot of light energy and don't give off much heat. the red bulb on eat lamps produces strong heat to warm your snake in winter or on cold days.

don't get a bulb that is too strong because your snake can burn even if he hasnt touched it! this happened to my snake recently when i found liquid-filled blisters on the top of his skin, you can find more info on this if you look at the question i posted in 'reptiles'

i hope that helps, bye! :)Is any one out there interested in keeping snake's as pets and talking more about them?
I've rescued and rehomed a young kingsnake and corn snake. The corn snake was always aggressive and only got worse as it got older. A lot of people I've talked to have had the same problem with them too. I'm not saying all corns are like that, but there seems to be a pattern with them and aggressive individuals.

I've got a ball python I rescued that i absolutely adore! He likes to wander around the snake-proofed rooms of our house, go up and down the stairs, etc. Some evenings he just cuddles up on my lap and lets me stroke him. He's very shy and skittish due to treatment at his previous home, but has improved dramatically since I adopted him a few months ago.

He does favor me over other people (which makes me gloat, oh it does! XD) When someone else is holding him, if I put my hand out to show him I'm still nearby, he'll hurriedly slither back onto me and huddle against me. I'm like a giant, breathing security blankie that provides his every need. ^.^;

So if anyone were thinking about getting a snake, I say ball pythons!
