It seems that every time I go on Yahoo answers in the pets section, there is always someone with a question usually starting with "HELP!", and usually it's a question about what they should do with an animal that's obviously very sick or injured and needs medical treatment. How come they are posting questions on Yahoo answers rather than taking the animal right away to the vet? Is common sense really not that common- or are they just being cheap with vet treatment?People with extremely sick or injured pets- Yahoo answers in place of a vet?I think its not always a matter of being cheap. More like an issue of finances. These people really want whats best for their dogs that is why they come here with their questions. If they didn't care they wouldn't ask!!!!! If they don't have the money at least they are trying to find help. Not everyone is an expert and they don't always know the signs of a serious illness or injury! So the best you can do is answer their questions as completely as possible and always remind them it is always best to get a vets opinion.People with extremely sick or injured pets- Yahoo answers in place of a vet?
9 times of 10, cheap.People with extremely sick or injured pets- Yahoo answers in place of a vet?I wish I knew the reason behind it. Probably because they are hoping for some at-home treatment for then they don't have to pay vet fees.
I know that I've posted questions about my rats' well-being, but I also had a vet appointment scheduled beforehand, so it was just a way of getting ideas, while waiting for the appointment time. lolPeople with extremely sick or injured pets- Yahoo answers in place of a vet?
People are stupid. Although...I do have an open question in the pet section, but I already took the cat to the vet and they did not help, so I figured maybe somebody could make a sugestion that I could ask the vet about.People with extremely sick or injured pets- Yahoo answers in place of a vet?i think its both and that they're stupid
the people on here can lie easilyPeople with extremely sick or injured pets- Yahoo answers in place of a vet?

When people are scared or don't quite know how to proceed, they reach out to other people, and Yahoo! Answers is a virtual community. Sometimes they are so rattled they just don't know how to prioritize what they are seeing because their emotions are clouding their reason. And sometimes they don't know their options, so they reach out to people to broaden their perspectives. And sometimes they don't have money and so they think they can't do what they need to do for their sick animal, or they don't know what they can do to help a suffering animal until the vet's office opens in the morning. Or they are faced with a potential problem that could crop up at any time with a beloved but fragile animal, and they don't know how to arrange an immediate response when the inevitable happens. And then there really is the occasional person who ought to know better, but who is in a kind of denial about the urgency of the problem at hand and needs to be told to get to the vet immediately no matter the time or the distance.
Okay?
