How do you take your pets to community lots on the Sims 2 pets?

I really haven't figured it out yet I know you can go too community lots and I seen dogs and cats at community lots but How do i take my petsHow do you take your pets to community lots on the Sims 2 pets?I think the option will come up automatically when you get your sims going to community lot. The option will ask you about who you wanna bring to community lot with you, bt you can't bring toddler or babies there. However, i'm not sure much because i have all the EPs.
