In our household we have 3 cats and a dog. Cats are great because of their independence. They are low maintenance. They express their appreciation of our care for them thru affection and bringing us their kills.
Dogs, being of a pack mentality, are devoted to us with an unconditional love. They easily become part of the family. Our dog has even acquired my family's sense of humor. She's a Lab. What do you expect?
Companionship is probably the best thing that these critters give to us. It forces us to care for them which in most cases is a positive experience. They return that care with devotion to us.
The hardest part is that they are so short lived. I've sworn off pets numerous times in my life only to find a new critter in need of a family later on. It's always hard to say goodbye to them but if you've given them a good life then you know they have passed on with contentment. How do you relate with your pets?
My pets are my children. The dogs pretty much rule the house; everything happens based on their needs! How do you relate with your pets?I like them in varied ways. Some I love some I love to eat.How do you relate with your pets?
I treat my pets as if they were my kids. I love them dearly and they make me smile. If I have a bad day, I can look forward to going home to them. They make my life better. How do you relate with your pets?My pets are my fur-youngins! My female schnauzer is laying here on my bed. My male is under my feet on his blanket. They're part of our family.
Email me if you'd like.
I talk to them like human beings- they are like my children. If you really think about it, you "change their diaper", feed them, groom them, play, and give them treats like a human.
I love my cats- they are both girls and both fixed. I'm actually kind of jealous of them right now because they are yuonger than me and THEY have a tattoo. How do you relate with your pets?
Animals are souls too. Your pet is suppose to be your very good %26amp; close friend. Pets are wonderful companions. you can talk, play, sing with your pet, even some can have sex with they pet.
I think pets are like a constant or even a touchstone in some people's lives. Especially animals that you can touch, like a dog or cat or even ferrets and birds. Your life can go in so many directions, good and bad, break-ups, kids whatever - but the dog is always there year after year, still happy to see you. My dog is never in a bad mood, I talk (vent) to her sometimes, she still wags her tail and wants to go for a walk with me.
Especially for people who live alone. You come home and say hi to your pet,and even though they may not be able to talk back (besides a meow or something), it's comforting to know they are there.
There's also something relaxing about interacting with your pet. They have documented that a person's blood pressure drops after petting a dog or a cat.
Hopes this helps a little. How do you relate with your pets?
I am the Alpha B**ch with all of my dogs. As in wolf packs, I demonstrate this to the pup when they first arrive by biting their throat. Actually not biting, but holding their throat in my teeth. Sound crazy? Works for me.
I respect my animals, watch their body language, and only ask of them things they can successfully accomplish. Training, whether obedience or working (retrieves) is done on a daily basis. I am consistant with all training. Hand signs are intigrated such that I have the choice of verbal or non verbal commands. It's super to see positive results.
We play. PLAY!!! All kinds of games including running in the house when not training/working.
My 80# Golden Retriever is groomed daily, bathed once a month, nails trimmed, and ears cleaned. He is my heart.
I have a couple of "pet names" I use with him. He totally understands I mean business when I say "No, Sir". What can I say, Einstein is brilliant. He is my love.
Did any of that rambling help?
