How many pets have you lost this year?

As 2009 draws to a close I want everyone to take this time to remember all of their beloved pets.

What happened to your pet?

What was their age at the time of passing? How many pets have you lost this year?In 2002 I lost all 4 of my dogs and in 4 months..I also lost 2 cats that same year..That was the worse year I had ever in my life.It is awful to lose just one pet but so many in 1 year is impossible to come to terms with.I was deeply saddened for a long time as 1 was just 5 years old,a GSD that had a brain tumor and had to be euthanized. The others were from old age but I never expected them all to pass so quickly together..I remember them always..

The ages were 12-14-15 yrs for my small dogs and the GSD was 5 yrs old

the cats were 18 and 16 yrs..How many pets have you lost this year?
1. My Elkhound Simba passed away from cancer (painlessly and peacefully laying in my lap) in Semptember. He was 13 years old.How many pets have you lost this year?My little Rat Terrier Joe. He was only six and died very suddenly. My mother found him unresponsive on the floor after she came out of the bathroom. I loved that little guy, it was so sudden. He died at the end of January. How many pets have you lost this year?
None of them have passed away yet thankfully...How many pets have you lost this year? This year I lost my Pembroke Welsh Corgi, I am unaware as to how he died and I really wish I knew. He was 10 years old

I also lost my Chow/Collie. She was euthanized after complications with a ear infection. She was 13

there are a few others as well
My wife and I lost our Ausssie Shepherd, Raullie, on New Years day when she jump out of my parents backyard and got hit by a car. She was only 2 years old. We were very sad and learned a few lessons from it.How many pets have you lost this year?
I lost my chihuahua, Chili Pepper, last month. She was 7 years old... She lived a short life for a chihuahua.. But she definately lived a happy one, and got everything she could possibly ever want...

She was tragically hit by a ******* Tyson's chicken truck...

It was a nice warm day, we were all out cleaning up the yard.. Me, my mom, my girlfriend, the two big dogs, and Chili... And before we knew it, she was missing... After calling her for a few minutes I went down our very long driveway... And there she was... In the middle of the road, on her side, her precious little feet crossed...

She was a good dog, and an ever better friend... I totally blame myself for her early death.. I should have been watching after her.. I KNEW how stubborn she was! No matter what we did, she always found a way to get down to that road... To many interesting smells I suppose...

R.I.P. Chili Pepper. Your family loves and misses you...
None. My 3 cats are still healthy and alive at 2 %26amp; 3 years old.

My mom's cat however passed away a couple of weeks ago at age 3. He had been losing weight and before my mom had a chance to take him to the vet he died. We think he had feline leukemia. It was really a shame because my mom had every intention to bring him to the vet and get him treated for whatever made him so sick but he passed away the day before his vet appointment. He was the father of 2 of my cats and was still so young :(How many pets have you lost this year?

2009 none Thank God.

2008 I lost 2 pets. My wonderful 11 yr old Border Collie boy Luke. Deteriorating spine. He was attacked by the neighbors Pit Bull in his own yard, through my chainlink fence. Aggravated his condition. He was in severe pain %26amp; was losing control of his rearend. I had to make the choice to end his suffering. And I lost my 6 yr old cat to bladder cancer.

Meet ya at the bridge big Luke.
I have lost none.

My dog it 2 years old.
1 Parakeet.

He caught a virus from a sick bird who came into close contact. We tried everything to help him, but he didn't make it.

He was only 2 years old. His name was Kiwi, and was the sweetest parakeet I'd ever had.
One dog, the best, a 'heart dog' called 'Angel' who was PTS towards the end of January when her CRF symptoms became too much for her to bear and the immediate prognosis was truly dire.

She was rescued in 2000 and lived to be 14.

Her story is in her photo gallery here:

Just one this year - my old Lab/Sharpei mix.

She was 14 when I had to have her put to sleep.

She had a long, full life before she went, and was very healthy until the age of 12.
My beloved Scottie dog was 14 1/2 when he passed. Thankfully, he had a wonderful, rich happy life and was only sick a few weeks. When we got the diagnosis of liver cancer, we granted him a peaceful passing. He was a loyal friend and had earned his peace. Godspeed Mr. Puppy--love you forever.
